About the
National Civics Bee
The Northmont Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to host a nonpartisan civics competition that encourages young Americans to engage in civics knowledge for a chance to win recognition and cash prizes. Finalists will be invited to Washington, DC to compete in the National Civics Bee National Championship in Fall 2026.
Why Civics?
The Northmont Area Chamber of Commerce is participating in the National Civics Bee because we believe that informed and active citizens make for a strong country, a strong economy, and a strong workforce, and that our continued prosperity depends on the strength of all three. Through the National Civics Bee, we are promoting greater civic knowledge in Ohio and celebrating our civic pride!
How to Enter
Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student residing in Ohio with an idea about using civics to improve their community may submit their application to participate in their state. All applications must be submitted by Wednesday, February 5, 2026, at 5:59 AM EST.

Once Registered you will receive instructions
for ticket pick up. You have the option to print your ticket or pick one up at the Chamber office. (1150 W. National Rd)
Chocolate tour tickets are a cover-all board. once you visit all locations you can turn your tickets in to the Northmont Area Chamber of Commerce office to be entered to win prizes like an ipad and apple watch.

If your business would like to be a participant in the tour please fill out the participant form below. Participants must be a current Northmont Area Chamber of Commerce member. Participants are agreeing to give chocolate, in some form, to anyone who comes in with a chocolate tour ticket between February 1-28. Dates have been extended for 2025!

Children under 15 are invited to participate in this event,
event is limited to 100 children
The event registration fee is $5.50 per child.
Participants need to bring their own fishing poles. bait (only provided bait should be used) and lunch will be provided for participants and families.
