The Northmont Chamber is proud to host an official Ohio BWC Safety Council, giving local employers access to training, resources, and rebates that improve workplace safety and reduce costs.

This is the only safety council in northern montgomery county.

Why Join the Safety Council?

Participating in the Safety Council isn’t just good for your employees—it’s good for your bottom line. Employers who meet program requirements can earn a 3% rebate on their workers’ compensation premium

Program Basics

  • Yearly Credits: Employers must earn 10 credits between July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026.

  • Monthly Meetings: One credit per month is earned by attending our local Safety Council meetings.

  • External Training: Up to two credits per year can come from approved outside training, such as BWC safety courses, the Ohio Safety Congress & Expo, or industry-approved seminars

Eligible Training Opportunities

You can meet your credit requirements through a variety of options:

  • Northmont Chamber Safety Council Meetings (10 per year, one credit each)

  • BWC Safety Training – in-person or virtual training courses on industrial safety, ergonomics, construction safety, and more

  • Ohio Safety Congress & Expo (OSC26®) – March 11–13, 2026; earn up to two credits for in-person attendance

  • Onsite Safety Consultations – earn up to two credits every three years through a comprehensive hazard and claims review conducted by a BWC Safety Services Consultant

  • Industry Seminars & Workshops – credit available for approved external events hosted by chambers, industry associations, and certified training organizations

Deadlines & Requirements

  • All credits must be completed by June 30, 2026

  • Official training certificates must be submitted to the Northmont Chamber (your Safety Council sponsor) by this date
