Northmont Regional.png

Established in 2021, the Northmont Regional Planning Commission (NRPC) is a collaborative effort comprising key stakeholders from various sectors including the Northmont Area Chamber of Commerce, Northmont City Schools, Miami Valley Career Technology Center, Sinclair Community College, and prominent employers within the Northmont area.

Our mission is to foster sustainable growth and development by leveraging the collective expertise and resources of our diverse partners.

Understanding Our Region: A SOAR Analysis

As a foundational step towards our mission, NRPC conducted a comprehensive Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, and Risks (SOAR) analysis.

This analysis aimed to gain insights into the unique characteristics and potential of the Northmont area. Through this process, we identified key opportunities that could propel our region towards a prosperous future.

Key Opportunities Identified:

  • Community-Based Space for Events and Entrepreneurs: One of the primary opportunities identified through our SOAR analysis is the pressing need for a dedicated community space that fosters collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Such a space will serve as a hub for events, workshops, and networking opportunities, empowering local entrepreneurs and nurturing a vibrant community spirit.

  • Workforce Development: Recognizing the importance of a skilled workforce in driving economic growth, NRPC has identified workforce development as a critical focus area. By equipping individuals with relevant skills and training, we aim to meet the evolving needs of the job market and empower our community members to thrive in their careers.

  • Engaging the Community:  NRPC believes in the power of community engagement and collaboration. To ensure that our initiatives align with the needs and aspirations of Northmont residents, we have conducted surveys to gauge their interests and preferences. Additionally, we are reaching out to small businesses and community members to gather valuable insights that will inform the development of the BOLT Innovation Center and Northmont Innovation District.

NRPC recognized the importance of fostering unity within the Northmont community. Our initial and ongoing endeavor involves the installation of Main Street veteran banners, aimed at honoring and celebrating our local heroes. Further details can be accessed below.

Our subsequent initiative entailed the establishment of the Northmont Area Chamber Foundation. Through this foundation, NRPC endeavors to sustain the momentum of progress within Northmont, ensuring a bright future for our community.

Additionally, NRPC is spearheading The BOLT innovation center project. This project, facilitated through the Chamber Foundation, will provide a space for collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurship, further contributing to the advancement and prosperity of Northmont.
