The City of Clayton was established in 1998, following the merger of the Village of Clayton and Randolph Township. The City is led by six Council Members and a Mayor who appoint a City Manager to handle day-to-day functions.

Clayton has a population of 13,269 (Source: US Census) within the Northmont Community (population 43,000) and covers 18.5 square miles. The City is located in the west-central portion of the state and is a suburb of Dayton, Ohio. Right next to Interstate-70, Clayton is conveniently located for businesses and residents who travel throughout the region. We are only 10 minutes away from the Dayton International Airport, which is great for people who travel for a living.
