The City of Englewood was founded in 1841 by settlers from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Originally named for Harrisburg, our area was renamed Iamton and then Jamton before it became Englewood in 1898.

Englewood, with a land area of 6.2 square miles in northwestern Montgomery County, Ohio, is bisected by I-70, and is three miles west of I-75;

  • 10 miles north of Dayton;

  • 70 miles west of Columbus;

  • 60 miles north of Cincinnati;

  • 100 miles east of Indianapolis;

  • 130 miles south of Toledo
